A world premiere recording with the Vienna Symphony > The Silver-Garburg Piano Duo joins forces with the Vienna Symphony and Maestro Florian Krumpöck to record the world premiere of a new concerto, which was written and dedicated to them: Richard Dünser’s adaptation of Brahms Quartet Op. 25 for piano, four hands and string orchestra, which is based on the two original versions by Brahms (for piano quartet and for piano, four hands). The recording took place at the Wiener Konzerthaus and will be released in 2020. The album, fully dedicated to Brahms, will also include the Variations on a theme by Haydn, op. 56b for two pianos. This will be the duo’s third cooperation with the Berlin Classics label.

“A tonal sensation at world level”: Summertime! > From the Cincinnati River to the North Sea, from the Alps to the Harz mountains; from palaces to churches, from castles to hangars… The 2019 summer of Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg was marked with full artistic activity of versatile programs – from duo recitals through chamber collaborations to orchestral appearances. The duo was a guest at the Elbphilharmonie, Harzburger Musiktage, Kultur Sommer Semmering, Cincinnati Summermusic, ISA Festival, Trame Sonore, Gezeiten Konzerte and more.

“The two pianists communicated with such perfection of ensemble, you couldn’t tell where one began and the other left off. It was stunning to hear the effortless artistry of this married couple… Absolute clarity and oneness of spirit”.
“Besides their exciting technical prowess, the pianist’ phrasing was consistently expressive… both nuanced and vivacious… the finale sparkled with energy and humor. The soloists never drew attention to their own virtuosity, and communicated across the pianos with clearly a kind of sixth sense”. (Cincinnati Business Courier)

“The publication comes close to an enlightening revelation”: The new ‘Illumination’ album is released > “Illumination”, the new album of the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo, was presented in a recital at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and released in April 2019 under the Berlin Classics label. “Let there be light!” titles the music magazine Concerti its choice as “CD of the week” and praises the “superb tonal sensibility, outstanding ensemble playing and imaginative rubati and agogic”. Piano News writes “A veritable aha effect… illuminates the complexity of this masterpiece in a way that has never been heard before.” American Record Guide concludes “The whole package is truly, as titled, an ‘Illumination’ of works”.
